Adolescents and Young Adults Gender Dysphoria Outcomes Study

The aims of this study are four-fold:

(1) To collect baseline data in a large sample of adolescents and young adults (age range, 13-21 years; henceforth “youths”) with gender dysphoria, including: demographic variables, psychologic/psychiatric well-being, sexual orientation, family factors, and the types of health care received.

(2) To track the developmental course of gender dysphoria, approximately yearly, for at least five years. (Note that the current proposal does not include the follow-up component, except for asking participants whether they agree to be recontacted.)

(3) To identify predictors and correlates of the developmental course of gender dysphoria.
